The 7yr regeneration scheme will create a new extensive landscaped environment, new public green spaces, new water access and canal moorings, improvements to access and local highways, new pedestrian and cycle connections (including a 3 km public trim trail), 2,000 cycle spaces and electric vehicle charging points.
The landscape framework draws inspiration from some of the sites ‘found objects’, which are industrial remnants from past uses and processes. These are re-interpreted through the site via The Public Art Strategy.
The Former Nestlé Factory is a formidable site seeped in history and is a major land-holding landmark in Hayes. The iconic art deco factory building constructed in 1914 was designed by the pre-eminent architect Wallis Gilbert and forms the centerpiece to a new residential masterplan on the former industrial site.
We are collaborating with Makower Architects and DMFK to deliver an extensive public realm and landscape framework of streets, parks, and podium gardens for the 1400 residential units in Hayes, West London.
